having problems with making a .dds for a 3ds max model

Hi

I've finished making my model for a wonder building and now I want to add the texture to the model. I have followed the instructions on this link : http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=171934 but I dont understand what I do wrong. Things start to go bad at the "Stiching" part of the tutorial and I'm not sure what to do at the next part ( how to fit the pieces that are too big for the blue squares).

Any help would be appreciated

Okay then...

Perhaps someone could tell me which program they use to edit this red dds file ? I thought that if I post the model someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong so here is the link :
