Just to prove I'm working on it here is a really really early preview:

alright Cyberstrong, you can playtest two if you want... ;)

The main thing that adds MBs is the leaderheads, that was why the DyP team decided not to have additional leaderheads and just reused old ones. Zipped the mod will probably be under a GB, but I'll will(And I hate doing this) probably have to split the upload, since uploading takes much longer than downloading.

What is the best method for doing this?

I think you should reuse leaders for all applicale civs (with appropriate gender of course ;) ). Like for the Romans you should use the default leaderhead same with Greece and as many civs as you can. I think it would be a fair trade-off.

You should split it into 2 diffrent files. (I perfer self-extracting exe)

I think I should add that I will be using RAR format...It decreases the Mod's size while RARed to 400 Mbs....
Please make it self-extracting. It makes it easier for the newbies, and for me. ;)

Anyone know how to do a self-extract? Those make me nervous with Conquests because it is installed differently depending on what version you have. Some have it in the Atari folder and some in Infogames. If the self-extracter can figure out for you then that sounds good. RAR is sort of self extracting if you right click the file and select extract files. You just pick the destination (which Sword of Geddon should post somewhere) and it installs itself exactly how it was compressed. No fuss no mess. That's how I did the Mystara mod. I just had the person extract it to the exact folder that the Civilization III game folder was in and it installed it.

All you have to do inside WinRAR is first make it into a compressed file and then view it in WinRAR. Then look on the toolbar (the one with the big buttons) for something that says "SFX" (It should be on the far right). Click it, then click Ok. You should then have a self-extracting exe that will force the user to choose where to un-pack it.

I was un-ziping it on my brothers computer and because it was suppose to be extracted to the main foulder I had to un-zip it somewhere else then move the right files to the Conquest foulder. This is becasue his main foulder is called Civilization3 vs Civilization III. ;)
