Heart of Destiny

I can't seem to find the list I made of the techs that I moved. So I'm going to list all the techs in the 3rd era and the coordinates they have. This way you can go into the editor and just change the ones that are different. This was by far the hardest era. Era 4 shouldn't take long, I'll work on it every chance I get so I don't hold this project up anymore.

3rd era tech tree

Now for the 4th era...

Wow Tjedge. That must have been quite the undertaking...

I have my work cut out for me with regards to the first two errors and creating culture-pacific techs to fill in the blank spaces. Luckily the 3rd error lacks those, as by that time cultures are already developed and only progress technology wise from that point on for the most part.

question for you. did you lower the hp on the TOW infantry cause im getting vets with only 2 points. may be starting a new game soon, rome just declared war on me. course that means the rest of the world too since the rest of us are all allies. i cant believe his army, i have the biggest civ by far but his army out numbers me a 100 to 1 or better. he just move up on my city with a little over 600 units. the list is to long for the game to even put them all on. ive never seen a pile like that, over 500 gurilla but im mored worried about the laser infantry since im defending mostly with GI's. oh well we will see how it goes lol.

Rome must have advanced to the Energy Age part of the 4th era...not good for you Grey. Yes I decreased the HP of the Tow Infantry and other units in its line both before and after(Gatling Gun, Machine Gun, Rail Infantry and Blaster Infantry), but they more than make up for it with higher attack power than standard infantry. Where are you techwise?

well im researching synthetic materials right now and just finished computers. i have mech infantry under construction but they wont start showing up for another 3 turns. im making cheap quick units in some cities to just keep filling up the city. i stopped with the TOW cause they havent hurt anyone so far they just die way to easy so im making GI and Mech mostly. i have 127 units in the city right now, including 3 armies and a turrent, but they cant last against those stacks of his. he now has 3 stacks around my city, all to big to read the whole thing. checking his total civ units i find he has just over 2000 units. im the biggest richest civ on the planet and i cant support that kind of army.

That doesn't make any sense. Laser Troopers can only be built if that civ has reached the Energy Age part of the fourth era, once they have researched Energy Weaponry. Only thing I can think of is time travel. Maybe the Romans of the future get destroyed by your empire and so they sent a few armies back in time to help their past counterparts. The strange thing is I did not program that into the mod. I will look it over to see what is going on.

well im making it.....between me and japan we have reduced romes total troops by about half. meaning he is down to about a 1000 now and i have about 100 total. we had peace for a bit after he took one of my cities and i took it back and then took one of his. he just declared war on me again which was stupid since almost all of his force was in the south fighting japan. so i took barcelona, one of the most important cities in the world, from him. so now he has to decide what he wants more japan or me cause he cant really affoard to take us both on at once. im north japan is south rome is in the middle.

This sounds like a fascinating game you are playing. I still am wondering how Rome got Laser Troopers though, that is very weird.

How large is your airforce? Bombers and a good navy(if the war moves near the coast) would be very useful on depleting Rome's army and weakening them overall.

my airforce sucks cause i just got stealth and started building stealth fighters. i have a few b52s. his airforce is gone i took all but a couple of fighters down already. navy im not in bad shape but he has 21 battleships to my 6 so as in the land war he out numbers me in it. i can control the skies but thats it. my only edge is modern armor, he just got it while ive been building it up. his main force is made up of guerillas so they dont stand up against modern armor very well. not sure how japan is doing, they have lost a few cities and a big chuck of thier offense. they have gone totally defense and are now holding out against romes troops. the mongols are on a seperate island from us and havnt gotten involved much.

You should build Cruisers and Destroyers since they are cheaper and don't take nearly as long to build as Battleships. although they aren't as strong, if you have enough you should be able to take out his battleships. Also carriers are a good purchase, letting you use your air power at sea. Eventually Rome will likely lose their bid to conquer Japan, and the remainder of their forces will probably be sent to engage you. Japan could possibly retake their lost cities at that point, further weakening Rome.

Hey Sword, I'm over halfway done with setting up your 4th era tech tree. It was very confusing the way it was setup up so I'm reworking the whole thing as a srop down tree like the 3rd era. So far it is looking good. I'll try and get it up as soon as possible. The 3rd era was pretty tough, but this 4th era is the toughest so far.

Hey SoG i found something that needs to be corrected. the special forces units have a 0 operation range for thier airdrops so it only applies to the square they are on. otherwise things going well. im now in the 4th age and starting to pic up some of the new future units. pretty cool stuff. oh and the music for the 4th age is kinda funky lol but i like it ;)

I'm glad you like it Greywolf. Did you upgrade your GI's to Shadow Infantry yet? The Shadow Infantry is apparently based on the Objective Force Warrior concept the army is developing now. Also if you need some added punch to your sea offensive, research Genetic Engineering to get your hands on the Power Armored Infantry, which are the ultimate Marine units(I have thought about including a second one later, still thinking about that).

Tjedge: Really is it that complicated? I apologize for that. The reason probably is that I'm not that great at the X Y values, so I tried to get them as close to possible to looking like a sensible tech tree. Unfortunately that tree is pretty complicated because certain techs aren't really that close to techs that are required to research it, or techs that come afterwards.
