so ive played my fair share of civ... but ive found a game that has much more potential, Europa universalis 3! once a mod is made that takes players from 4000 bc to 2050 ad there is no chance for civ im sorry to say. i believe paradox is the way to go from now on. i hope CiV can once again recapture my attention but i think from here on out there are better games to play, especially with the mods, i was dissapointed with the small scale of the game but with mods you can expand that.

Wow. We've become an advertising forum.

THIS IS PATHETIC.

the go express yourself on the game's forum?

Perhaps he is reaching out to players who are equally disgruntled as himself.

..that's still not a motive to talk about another game..on a total diferent forum..

i just figured that most of you have played both games. thats all. ive always really liked civ and will probably always like it, im just saying theres alot of potential for this other game.
and believe me i am speaking on this other forum. i dont see why its such a big deal that i feel that another game has so much potential... it hasent reached it yet,(see my original quote) i just see all of the homework that these modders for EU3 do, have you seen their maps? its incredible! if nothing else take a look. we all argue as to which civs should be added, this game has them all, and then some, i enjoy civ, hell, even 5, alot of people wont even say that, but i think ive found a game with alittle more potential. will it reach that potential? i dont know. i have no idea how to mod it. thats one thing ciVs got for it, i can easily at least change the map around. anyway, dont belittle me because i play multiple games... i just figured other people did too.

EU3 is fun but once you know how the game works you will find that you only go through the motions. There is precious little flexibility in the approach you can take to beating the game and very few different playstyles. There are basically 3 archetypes: Trader, coloniser and warmonger.

The primary concern I have with all Paradox games is that you have few decisions to make, it literally feels like you're watching your country grow except when colonising or waging war. At least they moved away from historical determinism with their last couple of games.

I find EU3 has a rich strategic environment. I wouldn't want to play a 4000 b.c. to 2050 a.d. mod though. I find that CK, Vicky and HOI do very good jobs of representing their respective time frames. Just hope they do a Dark Ages game once.
