Helicopters

Anyone find helicopter useless in this game? I mean, what is the point of the helicoper if you can only operate it from a city. And it sucks bad that you can't even use it to retrieve troops from the battle field. You can deliver them to a hot spot but you can't pluck them out if things are going badly in war.

Yep. I don't bother building them - a waste of gold better spent on tanks.

That, together with the bugs in precision bombing and air superiority makes me avoid air power altogether.

I am not a big can of the Air bombimg of citites. In stead of destoying the units you end up destroying all the city buildings you will need after you take it over. I know this is more realistic but I like the old way of killing only the units.

i only built one helicopter to see what it looked like... it was pretty much useless to me.

Go tell Firaxis they might fix it. Also make it so there is an attack helicopter too.
