Trying to be good.
Has anyone try playing the 1936 Europe scenario as Poland? Accurate events.
If you have, please share some of your strategies, tactics, cheats (short of actually putting in a cheat code or going to world builders).
As Poland, you have about 90 turns before you'll be attacked by German.
Germany runs a Fascist industry so they have 150% production bonus than you. This comes down to be about 3-4 turns per tank depending on the city, vs your 7-10 turns per tank as Poland. Around same amount for Fighters and Bombers. I usually don't build infantry, because they get killed too easily.
Strategies I've tried so far.
1. Research light tank, and turn off research, then start building/rushing military units. (I think I'll stick to that strategy, since there is nothing else I can research in time and build in time that would give me more powerful units.)
2. Load the three boarder cities (Danzig, Krakow and Warsaw) with tanks, anti-air, and aircrafts concentrated in Rzeszow (close enough to attack enemy troops inside the boarder, but far enough to avoid being captured). (I always get overwhelmed by the enemy forces. Germany declared war, so they made the first move with air strikes and then rolled over my cities)
3. Giving away Danzig and Krakow, and push from Warsaw. (Here is what I meant by cheating. Limiting the enemies options because of historical knowledge.) Preferably, Norway, but Norway wouldn't take them. I didn't want to give them to France or Great Britain, because Germany will end up taking them. So I gave them to East Balkin right before the war. (This strategy worked great as Germany, as I take over French cities, I would just give them to Norway, knowing that the French won't take them back, but I'll get them soon enough, but as Poland, it DOES buy me time, but eventually, I'm overwhelmed)
4. Take over Konigsburg and give them to France or Great Britain (another cheat). The idea is to use air strikes to weaken the enemy at Konigsburg and take the city over easily. Then by giving it to France or Great Britain, the Germans will direct a portion of their forces to capture and garrison it. This means that Warsaw is temporarily safe from a large force, so during my turn, I can use air strikes to weaken the enemy in my land, and in Konigsburg. Then kill them with tanks. Again, this was good, but not enough to save myself from eventual collapse.
Any suggestion?
