Help: CivGOld re-installation problem

A while ago I deleted my CivIII GOld. Recently I decdied to re-install it but the installation process hangs up with this message:

Component: CD_ROOT_FILES_PROTECTED
File Group: CD Root Files [English]
File: D:\Sounds\build\IndModern\Ind MEFull.mp3
Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

I'm using my original, out-of-the-box cd. When I deleted the old installation, I think for some reason I did it manually. Does this mean I have some skeletons in the registry or something like that. Or what?

A CRC error sounds like the CD may be scratched/dirty. Try cleaning it, and retry the installation.
