Help for the victims in Asia

i gave £70 and am trying to organise a non-uniform day at school, im actually suprised at how much money was donated at school people always go on about how we are a generation that dosnt care about anyone else.

However much each of you have donated, you could all probably donate more. Maybe move into a smaller apartment, or back into your parents' basement, or move into a cardboard box so your rent money could instead go to helping 20 more people.

We could, but every one of us chooses not to. I'm cool with that. I don't believe in that old mantra that "wealth creates responsibility".

I haven't donated anything yet, and I feel no moral obligation to do so.

But then I would lower my future capacity of donating to future disaster victims. I cant do that to those guys, they will need me.

I donated the 50 bucks (Canadian) that I got from my Grandparents for Christmas. And convinced my mom, dad, brother, and sister to do the same with theirs. And my Grandparents to donate an extra 50 bucks. Each.

Whats that, like 350 bucks Canadian, between us? And I know my Grandparents and parents donated more on top of that.

i think I have done my small part.

Y'know, if every 32 Million Canadians donated 50 bucks, that would be like 16 Billion. That could go a fair ways, i would think.

EDIT - Oh, and the Government matched that, so that 350 bucks goes to 700 bucks.
