Hello all. I've just decided to get back into the series. Always loved it but had to put it down and back away so I could accomplish other things. Now, with COVID-19 keeping me inside alone, what better way to spend the time than playing civ?

I used to play the total realism mod and loved it. I found the old games to be a bit bland and too fast without a good mod. How is this new game compared to the older games?

Here are some things I'm looking for:

-A very very big map with a lot of civs and a lot of space for them to grow
-A slow game where technology progresses slower relative to production. This was difficult in the past as you would create a unit and be in a different era by the time you built it and sent it to the other side of a large map. "Increased production" always meant science moved more quickly as well so it made no sense to build a lot of units until you absolutely needed to. I
-Lots of diversity in units, tech, land tiles, and strategy

Hopefully someone can point out some good mods, or tell me if I should just play the regular game or go back to an older version. I'm a miner so there are no system limits. Thanks in advance.
