help! how do i avoid the modern age and prolong middle age

Me and my roomate play civ ptw, but we don't like progressing to the modern times. For one, we can not use any planes or cruise missles or they create an error, that and i in general don't enjoy the modern times. However, i don't want to just play a short game and stop at the modern age.

Does anyone have any suggestions or can they point me in the dirrection of how i can just play an extended game with only the early and middle ages. ??? does this have something to do with senarios??
 
You could go in the editor and just make the modern techs non researchable. Perhaps make a custom tech that no one can have but it's a prerequisite for all modern techs.
 
Or increase the cost of the middle age techs, that would drag out that era but not affect anything else.
 
Something you can do nonmodding that would slow things down would be too set the game for no goody huts, no one would get free sciences and it would slow down the Ancient Age. You could also avoid using any Scientific AI civs...
 
You guys all forgot to do this :band: Welcome to CFC! BTW, you can set your technology slider to 0 percent, and let it take forever to research
 
The AI will still research. That means that pretty soon kykatastrophy will be overrun by a SoD of Tanks (if he doesn't get overrun by Knights first). Also, the if AI planes create the error too, the game will crash regardless of the player research rate.
 
In the editor just change the minimum research time for techs to 15 or so turns. You'd probably still be in early industrial by the time you got to 2050 A.D.

Of course this would make it impossible to get Diplomatic or Spaceship Victories.
 
turn off animations for everything and most often bombers and fighters (whether bombing or intercepting) won't crash. On 1.21f my brother and I played a game that crashed only once every hour and a half--and the whole game took place in the modern ages, consisting almost entirely of airbattles.
