Help! The game wont open

My Brother gave me his civ 3 disc for mac. I copied all of his civ stuff and put it on my computer, but when i put the disc in my computer, the cd doesnt even show up on the desktop. Can somebody please explain why this is happening!!

Also i dont have the installation software, but i assumed i could just copy my brothers stuff. If i needed to reinstall it, where could i do this. btw i have a g3 imac with like 1.5 gigs left of space. Please help me
