Hello !

I added another civ to the C3C Middle Ages Scenario in order to stop the Abbasids from getting too powerful. For that purpose I just copied the information from the Edit Rules->Civilizations->Abbasids page to the page of the new civ (changed some details (name) of course). I also copied the path and filenames in "Forward Filename" and "Reverse Filename", which I think point to the leader head files. Nonetheless, when I encounter the new civ in the game, their leader's head in the diplomacy screen is at best not shown. Sometimes some random leader picture is shown instead (and in a really bad quality); and most often the game simply crashes.

Any ideas what might be the problem ?

Thanks,
trinita

You need to edit the PediaIcons file as well! A leaderhead consists of pcx files (still pictures) in addition to the animated flcs. And while you tell it in the Editor where to find the flc files, you have to tell it in the PediaIcons text file where to find the pcx files. All the leaderhead info is at the start of this text file, so basically you want to go through it and every time you find information for the Abbasids just copy it under the name of your new civ. There are quite a lot of lines to add - for the Foreign Advisor screen, for the end-of-game screen, for the civilopedia entry, and so on - but if you just use ctrl-F to find all the entries for the Abbasids and duplicate them under the new name it shouldn't take you long.
