I just installed civ 3 on my vista laptop and it works fine. Then, I installed the patch, and now it doesn't work. (it says it can't read the CD, but the CD is in). So I tried to uninstall, but that didn't work, and neither does reinstall. So, I did something that wasn't very smart. I delete the Civilization 3 folder. Now, it can't uninstall, but it cant reinstall because it thinks civ 3 is still on the computer.

It is not vista's fault. It is a bad patch. Try to restore from the recycle bin then uninstall through control panel and reinstall.

Use Revo Uninstaller. This tool can uninstall the registry files and files that are left by the normal uninstaller. If Civ 3 is still in Add/Remove programs then you can uninstall it this way. It even works if the original uninstaller doesn't work, which in this case it won't because you got rid of the civ 3 folder, but anyways, here's the linky;) http://www.revouninstaller.com/
