Does this sound familiar?

I start a new game, and when I try to build my first city, the whole MOD crashes into Windows...why?

Additional Info:

I am using v1.29/Got the MOD as one download using provided link/start out as Americans

well have you renamed any of the files? if so you must rename them to what they org. were, espcially terrain graphics and unit names that are found early in the game like a warrior

plus this should go in first civ3 downloads fourm but you are new just a friendly info
