Problem installing patches, it wont install any of the patches when I try to , it comes up with this error:

The Setup has detected no version of Sid Meiers civ 4 installed.

But, I have it installed, and for the record-

1. It's not pirated
2. I did not dl it off D2D
3. I bought it sealed at wal mart

Well, uninstall and reinstall, patch.

I don't understand...at all...what do I need to do? Explain it step by step please.

EDIT: Nvm , I didnt read when you said uninstall, reinstall then patch, I only clicked the thread, ill try that now.

I am having the same problem in two different situations:

When I finish downloading patch 1.61 (successfully) and I click "OK" to close the program and install the patch, it says that Civ 4 isn't installed.

When I try to install the Warlords expansion, it says that Civ 4 isn't installed properly and needs re-installed before retrying the Warlords installation.

Should uninstalling Civ 4 then re-installing it allow me to install the patch and the Warlords expansion?

I also would like to point out that I have the Russian version of Civ 4 and the US version of Warlords. I installed Civ 4 in English and all of the file names, folder names, file locations, etc., are 100% the same as when Civ 4 is installed from the US version. Is there still a chance of compatibility problems between the Russian Civ 4 and the US Civ 4: Warlords expansion?
