I get it every game I play. I always take it because worse case it's so early in the game that if it somehow "cripples" me I can just start over if I really have too. The bonus is nice.

I always go for the bonus. If you get it with expansive, you don't have health worries for a long, long time.

This is an extremely common event which I get often as well.

But I have gotten it quite late once, I think when I had around 4-5 cities maybe. I didn't risk it at that point, though.

Also: on another note, I am almost 100% sure that the event will affect future cities that you build.

As for previous patches I can't say, but in my current game I got the event when I only had my capital, and since then I've built two more cities and they both have the +2 health bonus. I have the latest offical patch as well as bhuric's unofficial patch.

playing a multiplayer game as Mali on earth map right now, with stupidly unhealthy floodplains all around

the extra health will become useful at size 3 or 4 for many cities, and maybe 6 or 7 for some others
I'm so glad this event exists

if it only applied to the currently owned cities I'd be pissed as I just lost a citizen to it
but if not, so worth it as mali
