Heroes of the Three Kingdoms

Epicss, Like kolz2412, your mod is also crashing for me. I also have a multicore, AMD, Radeon 57xx. 511, of course. Diagnosing his issue will probably solve my problem, too. A couple observations; each game I try will hang on a different turn. I don't sense a pattern that seems to correspond to completing a building, unit, wonder, or diplomacy dialog. Once the game hangs on turn 57 (for example), it doesn't seem to matter how many turns back I reload a save from; whether or not I do something slightly different; every reloaded save hangs on turn 57 for that particular game. Lastly, the way it hangs is the same every time for me; I cycle through my orders, end turn, it seems to process all the AI, appears to be recycling to my next turn, the sound "hitches" slightly, and then it hangs with a dialog panel "...civ5...not responding" BEHIND the UI. You can't see the dialog panel, but you can run the pointer over it and clilck it.

Good luck!! Your mod is one of the most compelling - I try to play all the mods. It is a source of supreme angst as I've tried each of your versions several times in succession thinking, "maybe this one won't hang." Not, Doh!

Thanks for reporting the bug
first, try this patch, extract it to
My Document\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Heroes of the Three Kingdoms (v 9)\LUA\
and replace the LUA files with the same name
It fix some lua bug which will crash civ5

then, If you are using an old WinXP, I receive a lot of crash report on XP, I'm not sure yet, but it's likely you need to install
vcredist_x86.exe

If that still not working, please attach a save file before crash, I'll debug the problem:)

Well, Windows 7 with auto update on. I extracted/replaced the four lua files in your zip. Thank you! Unfortunately, crashed, again. Here is the save.

Btw, minor (or maybe not so minor) mistake. My other machine has Radeon 57xx video card. This machine is AMD Phenom II X6 1090T, 8GB, Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 - Asus motherboard

hi,
I debug the save file, and the error was failing to find a player color set for some warlords.
So when you meet these warlords, the game crash.

I thinks this is configuration problem.

This mod use all dlcs, so if you are missing a DLC, and a warlord has the color set of this missing civ, then the game crash.
Attached are the dlcs I installed, check if you have all of them.

Epicss, thank you! Interesting. When I check my assets/DLC I have DLC01, DLC_Deluxe, and Shared. So, it looks like I am missing most of the them (02, 03, 04, 05, 06, and SP_Maps). I launch Civ via Steam. When I check Downloadable content from the Steam Library, it shows me that I have Mongolia and Babylon. I don't see an obvious link to view other available downloadable content. Let me spend some time looking around for more content and I will see if I can reconcile this gap. Thank you for your effort. I am hopeful this will solve the problem once I get the DLCs straightened out.

Well, Mr. Meier; $37 later, my DLCs appear to be in order. I don't have time to try a game, now. But, I will let you know how it works, later. Umm, thank you?

I would like to test your mod but I don't have all DLCs (and definetaly won't have installed all near in the future). Could you make your mod compatible that not all DLCs are required?

I'm sure there are many users who haven't all DLCs and therefore would be excluded from using your mod implying a tiny fanbase for your mod.

You could test this by your own by moving a DLC folder away temporarily.

Thanks for the good advice, I can't reproduce everything in the missing DLC, but maybe I can limit some features when DLC missing

Will you really make a DLC free version of this mod? This is amazing! :) I'm eager to see it in action, since it seems to be a really well made mod, historically accurate, yet easy to play ;)

If I go back far enough backwords sometimes it is possible to play a bit longer and the game freezes not before turn 225 or later sometimes (295 or 320). For me it seems that a message box (scoring box?) cannot be displayed. It crashes at the end of the computers activities during these turns but always at a turn ending of -5 or -0.

...Yes, DLC_5 and DLC_6 are missing, I will also try a download of missing DLC...but can anyone tell me which DLC's I have to buy... 'think I got it was Korea and Wonders of the ancient World, cost me 4,99€ is ok for this graet mod, thanks again !

I'll update a DLC free version soon, don't be mad of me if you already bought those DLC, you still got these extra civs to play and some features of this mod is not usable when DLC missing

Balance Change:
Reduce the frequency AI heroes using skills/stratagems, especially in early game
Melee Heroes can upgrade to paratrooper at level 4

Might and Wisdom:
Add Might and Wisdom for each hero
Might affect a Hero's melee strength[ICON_STRENGTH] and Hero Skill damage
Wisdom affect a Hero's ranged strength[ICON_RANGE_STRENGTH] and the success chance of Hero Stratagems

UI:
Add a popup to show success chance of Stratagems and approx damage of Skills
Some hero 3d model now looks smaller

DLC Dependency Free:
Show missing DLC in game setup
Changed Colors of some Warlords so they no longer use DLC color
Redesign warlords flags on cities
At game setup or loaing, remove some unit/building override when DLC missing
Also, some hero using DLC unit type will looks like normal units
These change will make this mod playable when some DLC missing, but you can't use advanced setup since it will crash the game
 
Well, I'm playing Red Cliff as Sun Quan and v10 has hung on turn 249. I've tried a handful of reloads of previous turns with no luck. Something is happening with the new hero unit after completing the Oxford University. I've attached two save games..

I debug the 247 turn save, it did hung on when completing Oxford University, and no error was reported in live tuner, so, I think this is a Civ5 UI bug.
Then I try the save again in strategic view and this time it works well.

I think there is too much unit types in late game, so the strategic view works better.

Also I found this mod conflict with Info Addict that both mod modify the trade interface. I'll make them work together in next version.
