Hi, can anyone be my knight in shining armor

The tutorial mode is an option in Preferences isn't it?
I had to fire up the game to have a look. Yes, it's a preference in C3C, but it seems like it used to be in the main menu in vanilla, along with "new game" and the other beginning choices.

In vanilla, there was a tutorial mode. I never used it. The night I got civ, I had a basketball game. But it was cancelled and I spent the night waiting for my ride, so I read the manual. The whole manual. :crazyeye:

I've gotten civ for over 5 years, and I still read the manual. :p

"She" has Civ 4!

Get her! We must take it and make copies! Civ 4 for all!

Some people really have it, I heard that people who work for faraxis get it early, if someone bribed them to buy a dvd burner and make copies, we would be playing civ 4 right now.
And there was never a tutorial mode in vanilla civ, not in my copy anyway.

Well good for you Tomoyo, maybe you have a newer version.
If you don't have a tutorial mode, download a trainer.
Also sorry about what I said yesterday, I went to a party and had too many martinis. I have removed Tomoyo from my signature. :)

I played the Tutorial mode once and found it to be pretty worthless. I expected more hand holding, but instead got a regular game with a few preset settings and a few more messages that popup as you're setting up your first city.

I don't see units as being the same as military units, just because of those few non-military units (workers, settlers, scouts) that are oh so important to early expansion. But it looks like you two have that all patched up anyway.

Sexy Gamer, I high recommend reading everything in the War Academy and some finished Succession Game threads. Yeah, it's a lot to read, but Civ is a lot of game. :D
