Speaking as a transplanted New Yorker I can guarantee it would be a cold day somewhere normally warm before New York or Pennsylvania would consider themselves part of New England. Our denial goes so far that we invented a new region, the North Atlantic states.Originally posted by Switch625

"New England" is one of the "regions" of the United States. It's the north east area of the continental US. The states of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut for sure. Depending on who you ask, it may also include New York and Pennsylvania.
