Hi everyone I am new here.
I like civ3 a lot:love:.
My favorite civs are Egypt
:egypt:, China and USA.
Do you like those?

Hi Yan, welcome aboard.

I'm not sure if I have a favorite civ at the moment, though I am, like you, partial to the Americans and Chinese.

Have fun.:goodjob:

Welcome!

There are loads of great things to download from the customisation section: I recommend.

1. Snoopy's Graphics
2. Easy to see resources graphics
3. Improved wonder pictures!
4. My "Civ3 on Earth" mod.

The rest is very much up to personal preference...hope to see you around on the boards :D

:)

I prefer the Iroquois: I like purple, and those Mounted Warriors.

The above downloads are good.

I also recommend the LWC mod - no historical placement or real world map, but far better units and techs, and easy to see resources. Check it out.

LWC mod? what's that stand for? And why are the units and techs far better?

LWC stands for "Long Winded Changes". It's a mod by Plutarck with very extensive changes and additions to the basic game (as you might infer from the title ;)). You can check it out here.

Welcome aboard yangyang989! Civ3 is a great game. It's very tough at first but after reading all the good advice on this board you'll do just fine.

Good luck and enjoy yourself! :)

Sorry to go waay off topic, but a question for Moff Jerjerrod

May I ask where New England is?

I'm not Moff, but I can answer that for you.

"New England" is one of the "regions" of the United States. It's the north east area of the continental US. The states of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut for sure. Depending on who you ask, it may also include New York and Pennsylvania.

Speaking as a transplanted New Yorker I can guarantee it would be a cold day somewhere normally warm before New York or Pennsylvania would consider themselves part of New England. Our denial goes so far that we invented a new region, the North Atlantic states.

Heh. I put the question to my wife, a transplanted native of Massachusetts. Her reply was just about as, *ahem*, emphatic as yours! That's two votes "NO" for NY and PA being part of New England...

We now return you to your regularly scheduled topic.

Have you checked out the Canoe unit Dark Sheer made? It would be perfect for an ealy sea unit for the Iroquois, or as a replacement for the Galley.
