Hinge Of Fate Game - Edelweiss

You have been kicking our butts all game Juriel!!! So one moment of time to rejoice isn't too much to ask is it???? We all know you will kick us out of Europe faster than you can say Dunkirk on your next turn!!
But for the moment...the Allies had a little enjoyment in this game!

It's all good Sully just having some fun!

And Russia took out all my Armies and Corps so I don't think there is going to be some kind of massive counter attack!

I sent out the save this morning but didn't have time to post a summary.

GPS about 14 hours ago, turn report later today!

Sorry again for the delay guys, but my son was in town from Maine and I have not seen him in over a year. Was kind of a last second deal so did not have much time to plan it out better. I used all my free time to spend as much time with him as possible and stayed up late Saturday night to get the turn done. Spent all day Sunday with him and family as well, what a great blessing from God!

I am taking the day off from work (which I never do) to spend as much time with him today and then take him to the airport later this afternoon.

This should be a one time thing I hope and back to normal programming.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Maybe we all and yes that includes myself...can be more prompt with posting results and then sending out the save. As it is..until we see and can read the turn summary the clock can't start until the summary is posted. So then what is the point of the 48 hour rule.

I'll pledge to practice what I suggest.

Germany March 1943

With Western France firmly in the Allies grip the Wehrmacht scrambles to try and salvage what's left of a sinking ship.

Units from the Eastern Front are rushed to stem the tide of Allied invasion along with all forces in Germany on well deserved leave. They will have to convalesce another time it seems.

Thank You for your understanding for my delayed Turn Report

Also in the Med I had one Fighter-bomber shot down over CW Stack near Tobruk
and I captured a worker near Murmansk. I forgot to write these down but remembered them when doing this report.

i again request that you guys could post some photos each in your own stories in the Stories-section! i would even open up such a story for you... and you could just upload a few photos in turns like this one. it is a thrill to follow your game!

It appears that the British-American propaganda deliberately spreads some false news here, doesn't it? Bordeaux is not exactly "North France" and Paris is not exactly "Western France"... ;)

Coincidentally, aksully, eric: our local library had a book sale this weekend (once a year they throw out books that haven't been loaned out for ages), and I bought the Churchill Memoirs (12 volumes!) for 5 Euro! What a classic! (You remember our discussion two years ago...)

Good news is: that I now got a complete and unabridged copy for an apple and an egg... :D
Bad news is: that apparently these days people are just not interested in legendary books like these anymore. :(

funny, i bought those just recently as well. :)

yes i can. but it definitely requires more than that to understand why you would find your occasional burps of primitiveness funny in any way...

Well, it just requires a little sense of humor, which you may be lacking?! :dunno: In any case it is on the same level as your "if you help Calis, it will be an advantage for me"... And certainly funnier and less primitive than calling someone Roland Freisler (and refusing to apologize). :p

BTW: sorry, eric, for highjacking your thread... Won't happen again.

Something weird happened with the turn. :(

It seems like the game skipped my the entire last turn. I was already wondering at Minor Axis turn because I remembered that I had emptied Maikop entirely. I let it slide, I might have forgotten and the date everyone was playing seemed to be correct.

But the Germany turn confirmed my suspicion. My (not probably enough anyway) reinforcements at Voronezh weren't there. I hadn't emptied Murmansk either (and cut the road next to the city). And my whole road removing operation between Maikop and Stalingrad didn't happen.

I don't know how this is possible. I only played it once and didn't get any error messages or anything and everything seems to work fine for everyone else.

Has anything similar happened to anyone else?

EDIT: Checked the save folders too and I only have one save for February.

I didn't notice anything odd Val on my previous turn? I have on occasion tried to send off some bombers that wouldn't move (and no they hadn't been moved that turn). And had Plymouth not show up on the trade box earlier in the game. Otherwise nothing else. Not sure what can be done about this other than move on??????

March 1943

That was quite groundhogday-esque level of frustation. All the moves vanished to the air from my last turn. Tune in to see if it happens again!

1-NE of Voronezh
14 Panzergranadier korps dropped to 1/6 and 3rd Panzer Korps dropped to 2/8 by 4 med bombers.
Soviet Rifle Army 5/5 - 2/8 3rd Panzer Korps = 1/8 Korps ..... I think I had only 150% chance to win that.
Soviet tank corp 4/4 - 1/6 14 Panzergranadier = Corp 4/4
Soviet tank corp 4/4 - 1/8 Korps = 4/4 Corp

Voronezh
3 Citizen killed, factory and barracks destroyed and 25th Panzergranadier div dropped to 2/5 by 8 med bombers and 1 dive bomber.
(Isn't that much collateral damage unusual when there are units to be hit?)

Hey Glas I have no idea what could have happened here everything was fine on my end.

Sorry that this happened I will go back and look at my last two turns and see if anything funny is going on but as far as I can tell it is between you and your allies since the saves went from your turn to them.

Again sorry for the situation but like what Sully said I don't thing there is much that can be done at this point since it is after the fact!

well, what you *could* do is replay the 1-2 turns from there on, with everyone trying to play his turns the same way or with the same Intention as good as possible. not that i would recommend you do that, just saying. it may be a good idea if all of you trust each other a lot and think that the situation caused by this error takes away too much fun from the otherwise very interesting game.

i remember i offered Memento to replay his turn in our duel, when some slip had his capital revolt in the early game. it may not be the gamebreaker, but i definitely know it FEELS like one at that stage of the game. he declined, but it would have been ok with me. :dunno:

Something like that happened in the Age of Heros game. I was playing the British and RickFGS
was playing the Minor Allies. I was auditing Rick's turn because we suspected he was violating the
house rules during production. I got the Minor Allies save, opened it up and counted units, then saved
it without moving anything. The next day I got the played turn from Rick, but did not have time to
play it immediately, so I saved it and went to work. When I got home I started to play my turn but
made a mistake and loaded the audit save instead of the save that Rick sent, hence one full
turn where the Minor allies sat around doing nothing.
Of course this can only be done by someone who knows your password and moves immediately
after you.

I'm having nuances with air units I can't move from time to time (including this turn) and this turn I had two naval units that I couldn't move? And Val the Minor Allies didn't receive maps from Russia this turn.

GPS to CW

Will play the CW turn tomorrow folks. A little backlogged as our "new" retirement house outside Lincoln Nebraska had its roof damaged during the storms this past Sunday. Been quite busy dealing with the insurance company, adjusters, and roofing companies. Glad the house is still there and it was just the roof. Will be moving the house stuff here in San Antonio to there next month so lots going on. There may come a time where I may have to turf the MA and CW play to E or Val if the game lasts into mid-late June. We'll see though given Juriel's last turn results the game may be over by then!!! Meanwhile...we'll keep fighting!
