Hitler refused to listen and exploded saying "I don't want you to defend your positions I want you to push, push, push forward!" In February Guderian continued to oversee the withdraw of the forces under his command. Field Marshal von Kluge confronted General Guderian and relived him of his command and sent him packing back to Berlin.

Things look more dire then ever on the Eastern Front what will Germany do?

I am now in Lincoln Nebraska until the end of March. I am operating a new Windows 8 laptop that thankfully I have gotten Civ 3 to load and work. Have been very busy working on our newly purchased home. Not happy with the limited internet service being outside the city limits!
Anyhow have been distracted. But all should be well as long as my internet connection holds!

As to letting Lanz in to play the Minor Allies....I am okay with it if it is okay with both Val and E. Lanz is a great player and a plus. But Lanz should know that the Minor Allies along with all the Allies have been hit very hard. The Axis results to date have been the BEST I've ever seen.

I will be more than happy to transition the MAs to Lanz and will share all intel in what I've planned with the Minor Allies.

I will play the CW turn and forward tomorrow night.

Lost the entire turn summary!!!! Not a happy camper especially after losing power from the wind storm that hit here on Thursday. OH well...No elaboration now....just the down and dirty

Minor Axis Turn Feb 1942:

North Africa
  • After straggling infantry and artillery were crushed by the British 8th Army, Italian aircraft converge on enemy positions. 14th Fighter Division does no damage, but AOI Tactical Air gets clear skies and pounces on the 8th Army (5/7 to 2/7). These sorties are followed by the 10th SA, which damages the 1st South African Division 2/3 to 1/3.
  • Sensing an opportunity, the Commander of Corpo d'Armata di Manovra orders his troops out of the hills northeast to the coast, hoping to flank Commonwealth positions and destroy the defenders while wounded. The Italian artillery is ineffective. Coordination and communications are poor, and Rommel's HQ is reportedly furious that the Italians mounted an independent attack.
  • On the morning of 21 Feb, the tanks and motor vehicles of the Ariete Tank Division close in on the wounded South Africans. The result is a disaster. Trapped by mines and obstacles, the Ariete division is shredded by anti-tank guns and artillery (4/4 Ariete vs 1/3 1st SA= 2/4 1st SA). The Trieste division lumbers behind and is delayed. As a consequence, the South Africans are rearmed and reinforced and crush the attackers (3/3 Trieste Infantry Div vs 2/4 SA=1/4 1st SA). On the morning of the 23rd, the Folgore Para Division follows, sustaining heavy casualties, but the South Africans have reached their limit and are defeated (3/4 Folgore vs. 1/4 1st SA=1/4 Folgore). After this costly debacle, the fateful decision is made to commit the wounded 21st Infantry Corps. Although previously heavily damaged by artillery and bombardment, it is hoped that the unit can defeat the wounded 8th Army. Instead, it is massacred (1/4 21st Corps vs. 2/7 8th Army=2/7 8th Army). The Italian Army in North Africa has been almost totally wiped out.
Malta
  • Italian ships bombard Malta again, with 3 cruisers and 1 BB missing, and BB Veneto causing 1 damage to an MG.
Russia
  • The 1st Fighter Division recons in force NE of Maykop but does no damage. They are followed by the 11th SA which destroys the oil refineries, storage, and rail links in the vicinity (11th SA destroys improvements on VP location NE Maikop).
  • Axis aircraft again bomb Maikop. 606 Gruppe is shot down by enemy AA, but JG3 and the Romanian Bomber force each do 1 damage to a Russian bomber, destroying it. Follow on attacks by the dive bombers damages the Sevastopol Front (4/4 to 3/4).

Eric, with the destruction of the Temple there, I fear that Tunis will auto-raze when I take it. In the next version of the game, could you adjust the culture there (or make it size 2) to help avoid that?

E has it he or Eric should play just like last game when USA and Japan did it.

I would say for ClassicHero to send it to Eric and whoever plays it first between E and Eric can do it, if they both have it one should get it done fast. Plus Eric is next up with Japan so he would already have the save to do the Japan turn.

Just my 2 cents worth.
