This is my question, have you ever held a grudge against a civilization? Could be for building a wonder first, attacking you, running troops through your land, or not dying in the war you fought 2000 years ago. Maybe you don't like them cause you have a large civ, but no oil, and that puny little punk has 3 sources of oil for his 4 cities.... personal experience there. I got my oil though :scan:

I hold a grudge from game to game. I'll still kill Ghandi because he attacked me when I was weak and stupid. Now I'm unsually moderatly strong and stupid

Oh yes i do, against all Ais, every game. i once completed a spaceship to see the movie - never again. culture wins and UN wins are fallback position. The way to win is to kill them cheatin' bastards!

Persians. I can't stand them. Every game I play they must die!!!

Note: This post refers to Persians in the game civilization. I am not biased against anyone in real life just because of the fact that they are a Persian.

I only hold grudges during single games, like if a civ offends me, i take it seriously. But if say the greeks randomly declared war and i held a grudge that game, i wouldn't care next game.

every game I play, someone (in recent games, germany and america) decides to do SOMETHING to me early that will cause their destruction later. Even though it might :hmm: be because I'm getting bigger than them, someone always sucker-punches me.

but they will pay...
:borg:
resistance in futile.

Gotta hate the Iriqouis and those dam Germans. And whatever civ my brother is playing against me in hotseat ;)

Have I ever held a grudge against an AI civ?

Oh, yeah, I've held a grudge against an AI civ.

But usually I save my most efficient grudges to be used against the AI civ that ruthlessly attacks me...so I continue the war until all his base are belong to me.

If an AI civ from far away makes a demand on me early in the game and then declares war when I refuse but our forces never meet before peace is made, that AI civ better watch out when I do catch up them later with my cavalry/tanks because I do not let bullying slide.

lol, as a matter of fact, in a recent game i played the germans demanded technology from me 3 times when i was still doing a lot of expanding "land grabbing" portion of the game, and ive learned its a bad thing to go to war when you arent finished grabbing all the land you can...so i gave him the tech, even though i was more powerful than him. then, later on, i decided it was time for him to pay...thousands of years later in the game =D

If at some point an enemy civ either demands tribute from me or signs an embargo against me, then it's going into my black book! ;)

When in a few hundred years I become rich and powerful I remind them how they humiliated me before... :rocket:

EDIT: Wow, this is my 400th post!

Usually Persia and China get under my skin. Persia's always, always always pushing their luck by entering my territory and it's not like I don't know that they're going to declare war on me if I try kick them out

Recently I have started playing with only a conquest as a possible victory, so there is no longer a need to hold a grudge, they will get theirs in due time.:)

I'd hold grudges more if I could use them as an example to the other "AIs", you know, rip the russians to shreds just to say to the chinese, "this is what happens to people who ignore borders"

Those Romans always p**s me off. The whole world is discovered and they are trying to get me trade world maps and pay them 200 g for the priviledge of doing business with them.

My new to-be grudge is the Vikings... Grr.. Stop attacking me every five seconds. Please and thank you.

I tend to hold grudges on anyone who steals wonders that I was building for years or someone who demands techs all the time. Main countries to ask for something or war is Zulu and Mongols, and both get the ax in the process. And on another note, barbarians get a grudge too if they attack a worker on my next turn, as they will get a nice surprize waiting for them. ^^

Usually I try to destroy an AI fast enough so I won't have to HOLD a grudge, but "express" my grudge.
