horseman units

hello guys,



how can i get horseman units? there is always standing that i need horses but where can i find them



pls help me and excuse me for my bad english

there will be tiles with horses on them.. Ctrl-R makes all your resources easily visible. make a road and a pasture (?) on the horses tile and connect it to your capital.

The should show on the map even if you don't have the tech to use them! How much have you explored?

Also, to take advantage of the resource, you need to not only build a road to connect the resource (like Civ3), but also a secondary improvement. If you hold your mouse over the resource, it will tell you what you need (and the tech if you haven't researched it already). For horses, you need animal husbandry to build a pasture.

It's also very possible that you don't have any horses nearby. I just finished a game where I didn't have any horses until 1983. It does make early wars more difficult, especially because you can't have knights, but you can still get by.

Ivory is much more rare though! I actually neglect my cavalry in wars. It's a problem I'm working on but you can still get by. You have to position your troops in a good manner during assaults and always have spearmen or pikemen on hand at all time. They render mounted units nearly useless. War Elephants are totally ineffective against a pikemen unit, even in large quantities!
