Hey all, I'm curious if anyone out there will host this game and moreover if there are some good players who would like to partake? I'm a good host up to 6, but 8 pushes it over the edge for me, so the game would need a solid host.

Obviously, no quitters and we'll make sure we have links back to the game in steam in case someone drops by accident.

Game would be 2v2v2v2, I imagine a 4-corners with 'start together' enabled would be very interesting. Cooperation between non-teams would be banned via gentlemen's honor.

Let me know!

Sounds interesting but i'm working tonight.

I actually came on to the forums just now to see about setting up a team game. Glad I found this, but I have never played an MP game for civ 5.

I assume by the comments about hosting/not hosting that hosting it uses your ISP or computer resources?

Also, are you able to save the game and have everyone reconvene to pick up where left off? I have life to attend to along with a career and couldn't spend 8 hours playing a game lol. So it would suite me if we could schedule a couple hours every couple nights for example to play. I think it would be amazing to start up a regular game of this so we could find partners that compliment us. I have been playing AI team games and have found it enjoyable saving my AI partners behind, but with human players it would be much more even, enjoyable and tactical I would guess!

Thoughts?

good luck finding that many people that still play civ 5 multiplayer... ;)

I fear competitive MP games tend to be very warmongery, but I'm not sure. Among my friends we've been rather peaceful, not sure why. Well, I don't necessarily have to because I tend to excel very well and thus am a good candidate for victory. :D

Unfortunately I cannot play... GMT+2 time zone pretty much says it all (ET is GMT-5 I think, 7 hour time difference)

On week-ends its not rare to see 8 players games be full in less than 1 min. Both for NY and Paris servers.
