OK - now I'm seriously pissed!!
I didn't join all those Civ5 is rants, because I'm enjoying the series since Civ2 and I know that every single Civ needed some time after release for polishing.
I decided to wait for a few patches and especially for the implementation of the HotSeat mode.
After reading about the general MP problems, I was expecting problems - but then I read the announcement that "user-created maps will be usable in Hot Seat".
I was very happy to read that - but it seems I should have waited...
Because in reality this simply IS NOT TRUE!!
What use is there for user-created maps if their most important features are not usable in Hot Seat?
No defined starting locations!
No defined number of players!
No self-placed cities or units!
In other words: No possibility to create any scenario at all for Hot Seat!!
Dear guys at Firaxis:
Excuse me, but I'm starting to loose my patience with you!
Why couldn't you at least be honest and tell the truth up front??!?
That way, I wouldn't have had to be so exicted about this patch - and now so dissappointed!
I'm really starting to think that this could be the last installment of this once so great series, which I purchased...
Please remember:
What made Civ so outstanding was always the moddability - possibilities to create own scenarios, be it for single- or multiplayer (and Hot Seat!).
If you continue to ruin this aspect of Civ, you might be ruining the series itself...
