I enjoy playing Civ IV.... on my day off.
The problem is how to stop playing it from Sunday to Monday.
At the moment, I play Warlords, and it's a simple matter of giving the CD to my flatmate, who hides it in his room.
However, at some point I'd like to gain access to the BTS 3.19 mods, especially the final edition of RFC. Alas, 3.19 works without the CD. So I need some other device for self-control. I'm thinking about copying a key file onto a USB stick, again for my flatmate to store.
Thus 2 questions:
1) Is it possible to play vanilla and Warlords without the CD after I upgrade to BTS 3.19?
2) What can I temporarily delete that will disable all versions of Civ IV? Civ4BeyondSword.exe seems the best candidate, but I'd like to know about smaller but equally important files.
FYI: This is Civ IV Complete Edition (European version, i.e. no Colonization) running on Windows XP SP3.
