I was the head of the Republic state of Greece,known as King Alexander.I had an overwhelming culture,more than all of the other nations' cultures together.I was sharing an enormous continent with the French,the Romans,the Egyptians and the English.I had 5 cities,3 on the north-west coastline and two,recently-found and nearly undefended cities inland.A gigantic France of more than 20 cities in the East,an equally big England to the South,a smaller,but still powerful Egypt to the south-east and a smaller,but 5 times bigger than Greece,the Roman empire.I had an army of about 8 hoplite,plus some workers,a catapult and two archers,all well-trained.I had no resources at all,while the others had both Horses and Iron.It was at the late ancient times.
All begun when France demanded a tribute from Greece.I wanted to preserve Greece's indepedence and never accept an extorsion,and I declined.
France declared war agaist me right away.Two turns later Fillipoupolis,the souther of my two inland cities fell into the hands of the French.I struggled to preserve Sparta,the other inland city of mine,but less than 3 turns later the resistance had broken and the city was in the hands of the French.Meanwhile the French diplomats were signing military alliances with the English and the Romans.I had to fight three enourmous armies simultaneously and a tiny army to defend my country.I fortified my cities while I had outside them 10 French swordsmen,5 English archers,spearmen and swordsmen and some Roman archers and spearmen.I had no hopes for help.The Egyptians could not accept and military alliance with me,and each member of the axis against me demanded one of my cities to make peace.I desided to fight.And then the miracle happened.
My veteran hoplites(and after some turns,elite) at each town managed to defend succesfully the enormous agressive swordsmen armies,combined with some archer counter-attacks,for about 500 years.Their attacks were gradually weakened.The rare Roman attacks was not a big problem,neither the medium English attacks,but the massive French invasions(French were No1 superpower).It was then when I managed to sign a treaty with the English who gave me a war repay,so the south border was clear.One or two turns later the Romans followed the same way.But the French would not accept a fair peace treaty.After all I wanted to liberate the lost Greek territory,these two inland cities.Their attacks were weakened,so it was the time for a counter strike.My lost cities were right to the border,heavily defended and impregnable for my tiny army.With only one archer I passed through an unguarded location in the border and proceeded to the depths of France.It was a place south of France,practically unoccupied territory,but we could say that it was French.I launched a sneak attack in a French town fortified by a pikeman and captured it.That was too surprising for the French,so they desided to sign up a treaty with me,returning Fillipoupolis for that French town.It was a triumph.
However,Sparta was still French and Greece exhausted for the war.An age of peace,however,was about to heal it.In that peace age for Greece,Egypt attacked and eliminated Rome,becoming a superpower.But this Egyptian-Roman war didn't end before Greece began its strike-back at France.
After healing the wounds from the war,Greece began organizing an army agaist the French.Primary target:Sparta.After a failure in negotiations with France about peace and Sparta,war erupted and Greeks started sieging Sparta.After a not too long siege,Sparta was Greek again.But the thirst for revenge was boiling in me.So I invaded France.After a war more than two times quicker than the previous one,the giant France was defeated.Only a city in an island were left to them,while I had a nation with a size which was compared with the soviet union's size,if we can say that real world was like that map in the game.It was quickly organized,healed by the wounds of war and generally repaired.The French population became Greek,after confronting,however,two revolutions in Paris.The forbidden palace in once French territory doubled the efficiency of the country.Everything went well.Greece was a superpower now.
We reached the modern times.Suddenly,an Egyptian-English war erupted.For reasons of revenge,but also for resources,I entered the war.Most quickly,by equal efforts from Egypt and Greece,England was completely destroyed.Three of its eastern cities were mine,plus some colonies I created,some cities were in Egyptian hands and many were ruined.The revenge for the 500-year war was complete by the Egyptians and Greeks.
