How diverse is civ6?

I'd say it is diverse enough... more than any other historical based game anyway.

William we got another bad map

To my defense, it was supposed to look like a bad and absurd map. In my deleted comment, I made some "Reductio ad absurdum" argument. I first criticise the idea of wanting equal distribution of civilization around the world, because not all area are evenly populated (for example: the Sahara). Then I made the hypothesis to take a population cartogram of 1950 instead (since the Civilization franchise is not going to represent something happening after 1950). In the same time, I was critizicing the whole idea of taking a population map at a random point of time, since the population changed quite a lot since the introduction of agriculture, and main event quite change the fate of history (writing, colonialism, industrialization...). At the end, I concluded you can't really use a map to proove something, since you can always rig it to say whatever you want.

Edit:

I feel both proud and ashamed to have made this map. Proud because this is the reaction I wanted to provoke, and ashamed because I am sure someone will use the map out of context as an argument to prove the very something I wanted to disprove.

Now Europe isn't a massive and the aglomeration of civs go around middle east.

I feel as if we need more African Civs than African-but-not-on-the-African-Continent Civs.

But why? Most blacks originate from Africa and civ is a historical game...
Not to mention your idea of race is VERY problematic

Because africans was treaty as the bottom of society untill very recently, Apartheid just finish in 1991.
I think it is time from historical reparation.

and by the way, Firaaxis is in AMerica, almost 1/3rd of Americans are Black, do you think this should be represented in this game?

civ game is diverse enough and no we don't need "x people outside of x" in this game. Then we'd need for Asians, Pacific Islanders... and what have you.
