I cant understand it.. really i cant. I recently played Regent level. I was persian and my immortals turned my opponents into minced meat in no time. I conquered one civ after another. the some peace, I got to cavalry before anyone of them even had a knight. I devastated all that was left with my 5 armies of cavalry and the world (except 1 island tile with a viking city, which I BUILT!!) was mine !! so, for 300 years, I built, built, made people happy, and on the last turn I made ghosts out of those poor vikings ( I am a viking myself) and claimed the conquest victory. FOR THE LOUSY SCORE OF 7534 !!

the map was Standard , I had 400 million people, and the population could not increase anymore. HOW in the darkest of all hells do you do it ? I see 20.000 scores, I tell u it is impossible, IMPOSSIBLE !!!!!!!!! They are coming to take me away now.. haha, hehe, hoho.. can someone tell me what I did wrong ? haha hehe hoho.. mmmfff.. NOOOOOOo doooont take me awayyyyyy

While there's HOF slots for all map sizes and conditions now, if you're looking for scores in the realm of what you mentioned (20,000) then there's three things that help:
1) Play a higher level for a higher multiplier (Warlord is x2, Sid is x8).
2) Play a tiny map and kill everyone ASAP for the early win bonus. DaveMcW and Boogaboo have done this quite successfully, although there are others doing the same.
3) Play a huge map, take it all over and milk the living daylights out of it at just under the Domination limit. SirPleb has an excellent Sid/huge thread going on right now. Other active huge map threads include my Monarch1-2B and Darkness on Chieftain.

I took a look at the HOF list for Standard maps only. There was only one Regent map and it was at 10,000 points, so your score of 7534 doesn't seem too shabby. If it meets the HOF criteria, you should submit it.

Thank you very much superslug

What are the criteria for HOF ? Where did u see that score of 10.000 ?

The rules and regs of the HOF are in the stickied HOF rules thread. As far as the regent/standard scores, on the HOF score page, just switch the mapsize to standard.

By the way, Welcome To CFC! :band:

There are other catagories too. like quickest to 20k etc, some of which require dont require days of playing time. my 20k chieftain victory in 1740/1745 took 50 minutes.

Remember the criteria that make up a high score:
1. Total Number of Land squares (& Coast) within your borders
2. Total Number of Happy people & Specialists in YOUR cities
3. Level Number multiplies your score....thus Regent level multiplies the score times 3.

The sooner (viz. as early in the game as possible) you can get YOUR controlled land squares up to about 66% of the TOTAL land mass (+ Coast)........AND, the sooner you can make large, happy cities.......THE HIGHER YOUR SCORE! ;)

Just to add to the other guys input on this, if you want to beat 20K at Regent you need to have conquered the world (huge map) and hit the domination limit by about 1250 AD latest, or within about 200 turns.

That's not the only way. A map with a higher domination limit would buy more time/score.

Yeah I forgot about huge dom limits :) Every little helps.

Also ConanConq - there is a guide in the War Academy writen by SirPleb on the subject of maximizing your score.

I used to be like you, then I read this...
