How do you copy a map from a picture?

I really don't feel like hand drawing an entire map by hand. I should be able to open a pic of a map I want with Gimp and trace it. However, Gimp won't open the .Civ5Map files and I can't find where to convert these files to a .tga format which Gimp could handle. Any advice on how you guys do it? Or are we not sharing this yet in the community?

That's what mapmaker do.

But an option to convert a picture to a map in WB would be welcome

Edit : note that you can convert civ4 maps to civ5, if such a tool exist for civ4, you could use it then convert your civ4 map...

As Gedemon points out, your best chance is to use a Civ 4 map importer to create a WBS file and then import that WBS file into Worldbuilder.

Long winded, but the few extra steps may solve your problem.
