how do you speed up prodution in your cities.

every time i need a settler the citie goes in civil unrest or does not grow, what do i do to get the settler.

if this happens, change production to worker, and once you've got that worker, put him to work improving the tiles around your city. Then the city will begin growing and you can produce your settler.
