How do you upgrade all units at once.

I know you can do this in Conquests, but for the life of me, I can't remember. Example: pay a large amount to upgrade all Musketeers to Infantry...

Yes, that's how you do it. Two things though:

1) Units in cities with no barracks or units not on cities will not be upgraded.

2) Units in cities which are not connected to the resource/s needed to upgrade that unit will not be upgraded.

Also, it won't distinguish between elites and veterans - all units where the above conditions are met get upgraded, and upgraded elites become veterans. Just something to watch out for.

So make sure you move your elite's out of cities before upgrading, unless you don't care about taking away their ability to create leaders at their next win.

I naturally assumed that such a function must exist and found the hotkey through skillful trial and error. (Mostly trial, no error )

I'm amazed at the microscopic details on hotkeys I learned here. I really have to find my game manual and spent a night reading it. This would definetly save time and prevent RSI .
