How does the game decide when to play the religious soundtrack music

Mainly out of curiosity. I've noticed that music under a particular religion's folder seems to show up sometimes when the religion isn't the state religion, or is not founded yet (If my memory is right.)

(This isn't a question about bugs or such, just curiosity of how the game works.)

Some songs belong to multiple soundtracks. There are songs that are in both the pre-religion era and one religion.

Another music curiosity question: Which songs do the religion themes (not soundtrack music, but the music that plays when a religion if founded, spreads, etc.) come from? I know Octopus overlords is Desert Rose, and I know I've heard the order one somewhere (Though don't remember exactly), but am curious about the other ones.

A somewhat related question - does anyone know any general shortcuts or workarounds on the main menu themes, that keep them separate from regular civ IV. What I don't like is when I want FFH set to say, Sphener or Hyborem but then when I open up regular BtS it always has the digusting Warlords' menu or something. Just loading a different profile works of course but is there a way to automate that so it goes on game start or something?

Anyway, I think some of the music just belonging to multiple soundtracks is all. My only little peeves otherwise are a couple of songs still tend to end up too loud but mostly things are great, always loved the music and how it contributes to the mood.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but since music folders were brought up...

Is it normal to have the standard Civ4 music playing very often in a game of FfH2? Like I'm talking at least 50% of the time here. When I played patch d/e I don't seem to remember having any of the Civ4 music playing other than maybe "Alexander", which is in FfH2 anyway. Playing m/n, however, I seem to always get it playing, even after converting religions. I think after god knows how many hours of playing The Order I've still only heard half of the tracks in that folder in game.

Is there a setting that needs to be changed? Do I need to start a new game? One of the best parts about this game is the soundtrack, but having it interrupted like this is a real downer.

In answer to the original question:
The game decide what music to play by what era your civilization is in. This is how it work in BtS and was, until the most recent patch, not something which modders could change. There is one era reserved for each religion and when you change religion your era is automatically changed to the appropriate era the next turn.

There is no code setting your era back if you convert to "no state religion" unless you reach a new era in your scientific research.
