been gone from civ 5 for few months due to work overload heres my feed back of recent developments.

So recently my civ 5 updated did not notice any changes much apart from the AI war caught me off guard it is still bad but does seem to have improved significantly.

I bought the wonder updates and Korea civ isn't it nice to buy the same game a 1000 times? :)

whilst the korean civilisation looked like they would be good after playing as them I really don't rate them. I did achieve a significant tec lead later on significantly more then i usually have. However this was late game the problem was they are not good for early game and often getting the lead early can be crucial for long term. I suppose if your playing on epic or marathon games they may be useful, However I would not take them into a deity difficulty game or an internet multiplayer one.

anyway heres my current game story.
I got somewhat annoyed by peoples posts on youtube such as huge city size 40 etc as if this is the most phenomenal thing ever achieved. considering I have managed such feats without really trying directly towards that goal it seemed a bit some what unimpressive. I made abusive comments (otherwise known as trolling) on someones youtube video and got a few back. Now I am on my way to prove how big a city can be if we try.

The aim of the current game is to get the biggest city possible. in order to do this we need a few things.
1. We need the ideal start location not much chance if we start in plains.
obviously I would have to start a game then quit and try another start till i got the ideal place.
2. a lot of maritime states in order to do this we need to have a huge map.
3. the right situation obviously if we are been attacked constantly then the chance is diminished.
4. the right leader.

So to get the game chosen I decided on emperor difficulty I usually play immortal and occasionally deity However I figure if I am going to be facing huge armies constantly it may not be realistic. though playing on settler just seems pointless and anything below immortal hardly seems challenging so the best compromise for this was emperor.

in order to get the best start I decided to select the earth map as I know this has areas of fertile land.
I also picked huge map to allow for lots of maritime states.

I then had to pick the civ to play as, It was a choice between Ghandhi happiness bonus allows bigger cities faster.
Alexander is I am planing on buying out a lot of city states this would definitely be more economical.
or Siam the plus 50% food and culture is significant.

in the end I decided on Siam long term he is better for the ultimate intended goal. I feel it will be hard to have the economy to buy out all the maritime states without a lot of cities so that rules Ghandhi out.

it was a bit of choice between greece and Siam but I decided on Siam in the end. because I figure long term the food bonus will outweigh the cost effect for the intended goal.

after several reloads from infertile lands we eventually ended up in Africa. Africa has some very fertile land and also has the advantage of been closed off. we have not got the perfect location. So however big I get I know bigger can be done. However it does have lot of flood plains and sugar so I can sell of the sugar to fund maritime state buy outs through out the game.

We share our continent with two rivals England and Babylon. In order to achieve stability I have decided the ultimate goal is to wipe out both these players. the rest of the world is not of concern I can expand into as my growth warrants. However I can never afford to slip into unhappiness so my conquest will be limited to the happiness factor.

so heres the game so far and we are not so far in because due to several episodes of not noticing I have gone over 24 hours without sleep or food and disruptions to my course I have set up a very strict rule of 3 hours only a day controlled by an alarm. when the alarm goes I have to stop no matter what.

so I will report as things go.
Day one (yesterday only day so far)
Babylon launched an early attack on me which was disastrous normally the Ai is bad but sending warriors into to try and take a size 15 city is absurd in the extreme. after having lost all there military there entire army after against a single city and an archer babylon offered peace terms which involved them giving me several hundred gold amongst other things. considering my city is plantations and farms production sucks so my army was laughable since I did not have the army to invade them I accepted the gold and decided to bind my time. a second city was founded near an oasis and silver mines to gain more gold and production to actually have an army.

England got very aggressive in expansion and decided to build city's between my two
I built an army and took two cities off England before accepting there surrender. Babylon are more of a threat and closer linked now.

we have successfully built the hanging gardens in our capital which of course led to many turns of nothing else been produced. Rome and the Aztecs have declared war on me several times however with a large supply of gold I bought out the city states blockading the entrance into africa and effectively stopped them getting through.

so far the city state buy outs are five city states strategically positioned some culture some maritime.
I progressed towards long sword men and am about to invade Babylon the intention is to wipe them out completely this war. Babylon seem able to produce large armies and obviously i was delayed due to production. so a larger army then usual is now needed to eliminate the first opponent. to this end two horsemen four longswordmen 3 catapults and a general are on the border ready to attack.

I started by exploring the tradition policy track to get the food bonus and since I am playing city state dependent strat am exploring the Patronage track now.

we are lagging in science but I am confident I will catch up its still early days.

the current situation is I have my army positioned on the borders of Babylon ready to invade. the capital is size 22, and I think did not check when I saved and quit, that we are in the late BC early AD period. i really wanted to fight Babylon last night but the alarm went believe it or not a turn before I was about to click declare war. Well thats nice isn't it. :) . had to stick to the rule so saved and quit. will update the rest after tonights play.

The biggest possible requires the Aztecs (floating gardens), FYI. Someone worked out the math once.

How far can we go: I thought you meant how many turns. I played 600 turns after a 500 turn game. I had a domination victory and a space victory in the same game, and even saw both victory screens and on the second one I also decided to take just..one..more...turn. However there was nothing left to do. I just realized that maybe I could have given all my cities back and started over.

BTW on turn 900, all my cities were starving and would not grow past the mid 50's. I lost all ally status and just took over the CS's but a couple that I liberated who remained allies.

might find problems at the fifties will see I am siam though so do get some extra food bonus I have also built the hanging gardens completed the tradition track and captured the archer thingy wonder that boosts growth by ten 10%.

so I have +25% from traiditon track 10 %+ 15 %+ 10 % leading to a 35% boost.

anyway completed the next three hours today noticed i wasn't in early ad but 860ad so my statement of been in the bc or early ad last post was wrong i did say i didn't look. I don't often pay attention to that. anyway Bablyon have been eliminated they seemed to mostly spawn archers and sword men against an army of catuapaults and long swordmen they got obliterated. England have been significantly crippled. but the alarm went right when I was about to take the capital. good timings so far alarm goes when about to declare on babylon and when about to take englands capital. :)

aw well. anyway the conquest of babylon caused significant happiness problems having plus 25 happiness before the war clearly wasn't enough even though i purchased two court houses for the biggest taken cities. the extra happiness from gifted resources on the policy track quickly changed my happiness and allowed the full scale invasion of england. right now I am on like 3 happiness so need to do something. I have managed to buy out every maritime state I can find and almost every culture state to.

I have come back from been last in science to now been fourth and science is now sky rocketing. since I have the worlds largest population and the most land mass this should turn into a huge lead soon. I now have almost all of africa.

gold per turn is 150 which is quite high since I have such a large army now and fear no one.

the capital has reached size 35 or 36 (it grows next turn) and has a lot of unemployed people. thus causing it to become a power house of production pumping a siam replacement of knight every 3 turns.

it has built everything it can in terms of buildings except walls. I rarely find walls much use. as usually I push forward to quickly for them to ever be a border city for to long.

Rome have also declared on england despite been friends maybe something to do with me annialiting there military. Rome are one of the super powers as well as me and an unment player no one else is in contention and soon it will be only me. I think a war with greece is logicly inevitible wherevever they are not found there main base yet.

we are now in 1585ad.

not really sure if I need to conquer anywhere else I think just Africa will do for my purposes. might just perm war greece to set every state agains them but not atcually ever do anything.

50s? That shouldn't be hard, I got into the 60's with India, in the desert, and with no CS allies.
Admittedly, I was doing an (unenforced) OCC cultural game, with almost no military, but still.

so day three we took all of englands citys except one on an off coast island then gave them peace then they settled another city in africa so now plan to eliminate them.

Ghandi is hostile not sure why something about war mongering only had two wars.

city is now size 46. it is 1810 ad. population has been growing to fast to keep up happiness have had to constantly buy collesuems and other stuff have big income so doable.

maybe all the maritime states are doing this. Greece have been beaten down by someone esle so will not be a problem. tech is behind still but catching still am now in third for tec. using huge excess gold to buy research agreements from everyone who will.
will hopefully catch up there.

will probably finished on the weekend

If you declare war and wipe out 2 civs and or CSs (or something along those lines), your a warmonger. Basically, you get 1 "freebie", that's it.

England are still alive though so I only wiped out one. I took all there cities on the continent but they settled on a small island of the continent ( it is the world map I am in africa im sure this small Island has a name I am bad at geography.) they settled a small city on my island so I will take them out soon but they accepted peace deal so meh.

Still, its better diplomatically to provoke them to attack you, then fire back. That way, you declaring war doesn't happen, so you don't get a diplo hit there.

Although you apparently get a diplo hit if, after capturing a capital, you continue to make war with the civ you've "conquered". If you refuse the peace deal they offer, everyone else starts to see you as a warmonger. And if you end up completely wiping out that civ instead of leaving a remnant, everyone hates it even more.

(And yet, there's no real diplo hit for using nukes, except against the civs caught in the blast radius. Go figure.)

What this game really needs is a second-tier relationship adjustment (the "enemy of my enemy" thing). Right now, you can stay friendly with both sides in a war without much of a downside.
But I'd settle for a good Lua function allowing me to change empire-on-empire relations myself. The current tools don't have that.

I never really cared for diplomacy as far as I am concerned it only matters early game to sell spare lux resources to help gain a boost. however mid game onwards when you have 200+ gold per turn why bother who needs them. I still get research agreements even when there guarded.

in 1860ish now game is running very slow, don't know why but can't cover as much ground anymore due to slow speed capital is now size 50 something.

has been no war there is no need for war anymore so pretty boring now but cant report on wars. capital is growing much faster after getting medical lab or whatever.

btw because the mods have 40s style propaganda the last thread post i made had someone say I never beat deity and I never got to reply that in fact I have beaten deity several times. I think anyone who can beat immortal is worth listening to for strategy as that is an accomplishment. I think emperor beaters have not proven yet. there is a significant difference between emperor and immortal.

hoping to hit at least size 70 noticed capital has 70+ food a turn.

I need to figure out how to do this I want to make my own youtube series and also post screen shots but am not aware of how to do any of this. I am on a mac if anyone wants to give me advice as to the tech parts there.
