How is the AI in this mod?

Great mod btw.

So I remember playing vanilla a long time ago. Like most tbs strategy games, the AI was not smart, ie it would not plan coordinate attacks on my cities. Sure if there was a unit next to mine it would attack, but it would not send an army to my cities from far away. So even though I had 7 AI allied against me with 10x bigger armies overall, all I had to do was create a big stack and raze their cities one by one. It would not react, it would not band together to retaliate.

Does C2C improve on this a bit? I've seen some better ai mods around and they look interesting, I was wondering if c2c has incorporated some of them.

C2C AI is terrible. There are plans in the works to make it deadly af but expect a few years more dev work before we'll see that actually in play. Still - it's an inevitable project that is being worked on in planning.

I'm pretty sure it can't handle overcoming city defenses or protecting it's units from Hidden Nationality units. Those are probably the weakest points. Because of walls, the AI doesn't even seem to take out 1 city civs that are eras behind.

It's strong in a lot of other areas like expanding into unclaimed areas.

Have been playing an extremely slow paced gigantic world map game for several months. I have been pretty dominant in the game. I see the ai never has any coherent strategy, does not deploy siege units, does not work together strategically, doesn't build up multiple armies and attack cities. I stopped playing for now because of this. Hoping the AI has changed since the last time I downloaded the mod a year or so ago. What are the short-medium term plans on the ai?

If I'm not mistaken, the vanilla (and/or BTS ?) Civ4 AI doesn't do any of *those* either...
and Civ4 AI is probably way above average compared to other 4X !
(AFAIK it can even afford to not give the AI bonuses nor the human player penalties on the "default" difficulty ?)

Some short term fixes have apparently helped though I have not been involved much with them - but largely huge improvements to workers and settlers.
There are very ambitious long term improvements planned to be implemented by a very tired modder with way too many irons in the fire in his life right now (me ;) )

any mod where ai also goes to space?
That would imply there being a valid Space in that mod in the first place, lol.
Which I'm not sure there IS any such mod to begin with.
Not just with Space terrain that works exactly the same as Earth's, but with Space that is at least somewhat distinct in its gameplay (C2C does it a bit, though could do more).

there are many space unit and maps

true... was hoping someone taught AI to go to space
I'm saying that you are asking a VAGUE question.
Is it about C2C specifically teaching its own, C2C's, AI to use the Space feature?
Or is it about any other, unrelated to C2C, mods creating their own Space feature and teaching their own, other mods', AI to use it?
The two are very separate and very not-overlapping questions.

C2c has space units hence space maps.... But last year AI was not in space.... So asked

You asked about "any mods that have working space", which is not the same question as "is C2C already capable of space AI".
And you kept missing the point, despite me pointing at it several times.
Never mind, I guess.
