How long will you play a Civ3 game for? I don't mean bundling all the time together, but if you play some one day, some more the next, and then win, that would count as days, not hours, even if it only took you 6 hours all together.

It all depends on the size of the world and the difficulty etc... but I spend an average of several days on just one game, and generally give in when I consider it a 'won game' even if it's still in the Industrial era.

My job allows me to do this as I work shifts and have several days off together - midweek sometimes and so I end up glued to the PC chair (much to the chagrin of my friends).

Altogether, I reckon around 50-60% of my waking, free time is spent on Civ per week. That is going on an estimate over the last few weeks.

That's pretty sad when you analyse that figure, I could be doing so much more stuff that I really enjoy..... like playing other games and.... er..... stuff...

You can actually get to 2000 AD! WOW. My game will probably end in a culture or domination or military victory for my by 1500 AD. I'n only on prince level though.

Well, I could have won by culture way before then (around 1750 A.D.), but I was shooting for a high score (milking the score). I ended at 2020 A.D. finally launched my spaceship, because the Germans finally got the last tech they needed for their spaceship, and I didn't want to risk waiting any longer. Regent Level, 10,000 points. I think the last 100 years took me a week by itself. One turn about every 15 minutes (having to choose what the next thing for each city to build after finishing it, disbanding modern armors in the 1 shield cities so I can hurry an improvement, checking the other civs to see if they progressed any in the space race or got new techs, watching my 200+ cities all with hospitals go into WLTK day, pollution popping up, starvation, etc.)

I'll probably never do that again.

I play a ridiculus amount of time a day, around 40-60% of my free time. I've played about 5 or so games but as they tend to get boring I quit about 3/4 of the way through. It usually take me 3-4 days to finish a game. I intend to cut down on the amount of time I play, once I finaly win :).

I'm set to win my first game tommorow :D

It normally takes me a week to play an entire game.

Bamspeedy, wow you really wanted to get a good score.:)

I tryed milking my last game
Huge game 9 civ regent
Continent

It was talking like 10 min a turn but when i reached around 1500, turn became to go very fast 5 min maybe less but still when i arrived in 1800AD i was SO bored i decided to end the game in a diplomatic way, i don'T have the time to milk a game....:(( it would easily have go up in the 10,000 score sniff:)
