Has anyone completed or finished a game in less than 16 hours of play. I feel like everything is going so slow and the later I get in the game, the more time it takes till my next turn.
In civ 2 I could do it in 10 hours give or take 30 min.
:(

Just finished a 5 hour game on a tiny map. But on a huge map my games always take several days. Most of the time is spent waiting for my turn.

Depending on my mood :) :( :o  :crazyeyes I will choose the applicable style of play.

If I'm :) then I will pick an average sized map, Regent level. Game usually lasts about 10 hours. Otherwise, sometimes I just feel like a quick game, so I will pick a small or tiny map. Even with the max amount of Civs the game will last maybe 4 hours max?

Note that I try to set up build queues of minimum 5 upon city establishment, automate workers, let the governor do his thing. I am not the agressive military type either, so I can imagine a game taking much longer than normal if you choose a militarty style of play.

That depends. You can also win much earlier by conquering the other civs.

I also wanted to add that if you press SHIFT while waiting for your turn it supposedly speeds things up. (HAven't tried it yet, though)

Holding down the shift key, is like pressing fast forward on a VCR, it just sppeeds everything up. It is a must when you give an A.I. civ mutual passage.
