How many civ do you play?

I'm just wondering how many civilizations you set when playing. I'm also interested to know who, beside me, would like firaxis to allow more than 18 civs in a game.

10 to 11 is enough. Anything more gets a bit overwelhming.

Why would anyone want to play more then 18? The more civilizations are in play, the more difficult it is to keep track of them all. You then waste time having to check on them and remember every one of them instead of concentrating on the game and your own cities...I generally find 8 civilizations enough for me, I even find it fun with as little as 5. Make the most out of who you have, then you get to get personal with them.

I usually go with the default on the size and type of map I choose...usually 7 or 8. I think this keeps things balanced and everyone has a pretty equal chance of winning from the outset. I believe if you have too many, most are doomed to fail from the outset due to poor starting posititions, lack of resources, too close to other civs, etc.

Well my point is that I like to play very big world, with much land to explore, on marathon gamespeed... The problem is with the barbarians, for the map size I play, 18 civs is too little. It would also nice to be able to have 4 or 5 civs for each religion.
