How Many Hammers from Chopping?

I know that you get a different number of hammers for chopping forests under different conditions, but I have no idea what all the factors are. I'd just like to put the question out there and see how many people have gotten and under what conditions.

If you feel like posting how many number of hammers you've gotten from a chop I'd like to know:
1. Game speed/Difficulty
2. Base terrain
3. City distance
4. anything else you can think of (civics and so on?)

Thanks in advance to anyone who feels like contributing to this little survey. :goodjob:

My feeling is that at least 2 things matter: distance to city (the farthur the forest, the less you get) and production multiplier (forge, factory, power) in city (in another word, chopping contributes to base hammers).

The number of hammers you get is also effected by improvements in the city/civics etc.

Eg. If you get +25% production for a forge or something like that then you will get 25% extra hammers from each forest :)

Outside your city's workable area you get fewer hammers (ex: 30 instead of 45), but you still get some, unlike Civ3.

Agreed. It might be distance to city boundary, rather than distance to city (that should be easy to test), but it's definitely 30 shields (unless you are too far from the city) multiplies by normal shield multipliers. So 60 if the city is building Stonehenge and you have quarried stone, for example.

I have gotten weird values like 53 and 42 and things not multipliers of 15....I think it might have to do with what type of forest it is in addition to distance, etc.

I routinely get 60-90 when chopping for a wonder while I'm industrious and have marble/stone/copper.

It's 30 hammers. Pretty much everything is multiplied by 1.5 in Epic and 0.67 in Quick, including this. It's also modified by the production bonuses you can see when mouseovering the hammers left of the production bar.
