how many people have the collector's edition?

I have the collectors edition as well. I never pre-order, but when I walked into the EBgames they offered it at the same price as the regular edition. The nicest thing about it is the spiral bound manual. I haven't even listened to the music CD, and the special case is no big deal.

I pre-ordered at EB and when I got there to pick it up, they'd SOLD IT TO SOMEONE ELSE by mistake. They had one held for me at another store but then that store SOLD IT TO SOMEONE ELSE, TOO! No other stores had it so I settled for the basic edition. The manager claims he'll get me the collector's edition and just switch them out for me. That was a week or more ago and I haven't heard from him. GRRR

Oh well, at least I can play the game.

I went out in search of the game last weekend. Circuit City was offering a $10 gift card w/purchase of the game ($50). Of course, they were the first to sell out. I stopped in GameStop figuring maybe they'd have a deal. Lo and behold, I found a collector's edition on the shelf. Apparently, someone who preordered it decided they didn't want it. Picked it up figuring I was getting more for the $$$.

The CD is ok... The spiral manual is great.

Also great is the fact that Leonard Nimoy is the game's narrator!

I was completely surprised when I found out my wife preordered the collector's edition for me! She's not too thrilled with me playing it into the wee hours, but she likes the soundtrack, and she likes listening to Nimoy's voice with each tech advance...

I pre-ordered the game at GameStop, and as a consequence I got the Collector's Edition.
I'm curious as to why everyone is bringing up Leonard Nimoy in this particular thread. Didn't they get great Spock to narrate for the regular edition of the game as well as the Collector's Edition?
At least now we all know what Spock would sound like if he was an televangelist, after reading some of those ancient technology blurbs .
