No offense, but you should be saving for retirement, not wasting your time on computer games.

Always funny when children tell adults what to do. :)

I started to forget how everything was black and white as a child. There were not any gray area between. Glad you reminded me about those days :)

I did not mean to offend anyone with the ancient thing (and I believe non are offened) I just wanted to have a bit of fun and yes there should be still time in your life to play games when your older or you forget to have fun and you become a crab. I have a wife and two kids and sometimes it's nice to have a hour to just play :)

Edit: clarifying

Christ I remember playing CIV 1 and my first exploit where you interupted your settler (yeah they pulled double duty back then as a worker) from irrigating or building a road then told them to do it again and you could rapidly build the road or irrigate.

I'm still in the 18-30 range though, the franchise is only about 15 years old.

He needs to be doing homework so that he can later get a job and afford to play computer games and date and do his finances and plan for retirement and have a family. Thus you can not afford to play games now you have to waite till you get older.

Sleep eight, work eight, play eight. "Fearful symmetry," to quote Blake.

j/k -- I can play as long as I want. I make my own hours... and in spite of that, work rather long ones. :-) But there's always time for fun. Were there not, what would be the point of going on?

There's your answer, now it's my turn. Do you have a job? How many hours a week do you play?[/QUOTE=MEFFY]

I play around 6 hours a week.

My homework takes 5 minutes a day ( literally) to do.

Add another to the "ancient" column.

Nods to the other five decrepit old grognards.

Henry, since my full time business is gaming, should I get a life too?

I already got a date.:D

Six hours a week isn't bad. I manage five to fifteen hours at a guess, depending on workload. This coming week's going to be mostly programming and not a lot of playing. Them's the breaks.

Don't need a date, got a mate and a mighty good one too. :-)

Add me to the younger group but I agree with the older ones on video game age. Im 14 about to be 15. I play Civ an hour a day on a good day(with no homework). Usually no time at all during the week. Weekends I'll get a good 5 hours total in.

I'm under 18.

Whatever you people say. I just hope i'm not playing civ when I'm 60.

What else are you going to do when you are old and have all the time in the world in retirement? Technology and video games become more and more integrated into peoples lives everyday. It will only get more so. If you aren't playing video games, what are you going to be doing? Complainin' about the youngins with their video games and their intranet?

I'm 13, and I feel sorry for anyone over 20 that plays civ. Really, GET A LIFE PEOPLE. If you stopped playing civ maybe you could get a date.

:crazyeye:

Well I hope when I'm that age that
a) Civ is still around ;)
b) I still know how to have fun
c) Haven't listened to younger gamers and stopped playing
and d) are still playing computer games

BTW I'm 25 (26 in a few weeks), have a social life and a job and still play Civ (tho not as much as I used to).
My dad still plays Civ (amongst other games) and he's 53, is married, and has a job as well.

:D
