I'm 13, and I feel sorry for anyone over 20 that plays civ. Really, GET A LIFE PEOPLE. If you stopped playing civ maybe you could get a date.
We'll see if you're still playing video games in 7 Years!?!   And BTW Im 23 and I have a girl.

One day you, too, my son, will realize what a very special fun it can be playing a nice game of CIV with your girlfriend sitting in her nude at the other comp, furiously complainig about some axemen wandering through her beloved empire.

Trust me, it's most excellent.

I'm 39, by the way.

Haven't quite reached "Ancient" Status yet--but I'm working diligently on this--->38. :)

Born during Eisenhower, served aboard a nuclear sub during Carter, 2 kids, 2 grandkids. No attacks HenryCCC, but a little respect goes a long way. And by the way, I plan on playing Civ IX when it comes out....

Completely agree, and can't help but find it completely hilarious that a 13 year old kid is telling me to get a life.

Born during Kennedy, served aboard a nuclear aircraft carrier during Reagan, which I guess qualifies me for "ancient." Been playing since Civ 2, and I intend to postpone death in my old age by playing just one more turn...

Just realise that I didn't really answer the how old ... was born the year of first Dr.Who, the birth of the smilie and the death of Kennedy ... can remember when man kicked around on the moon ...

As to life ... co-founded an opera company and now as a hobby-ish design and initiate fireworks displays and blow the odd car or hut up for film :p :D

This is like the Dan Patrick radio show. 6' 0", 190, *ding*
I'm 43 and my last birthday cake said Happy 13th birthday. :D

Let me put it this way...my dad is on Team K.I.S.S in the Multi team demogame and I talk to him as much in our private forum as I do on the phone (kidding). Funny thing is our team ranges from 12 to 68 and we're having a gas, gas, gas. I've been married, got a girlfriend sitting next to me, travel all the time, work in a great biz, generally livin' large and in charge and play all kinds of civ3 and 4! :p

I say us 13 year olds rock!

I'm 29. I didn't start playing games until I was in college. I have no plans to stop anytime soon. Life gives us plenty of time for work, gaming, lovers, and lots of other things. Priviledge of living in the industrialized world.

Too late. Already married. Got a life. Don't need any dates, thank you. Age now 57. Got my first PC in 1984. I think your theory has some holes in it...:crazyeye: :p :D

I'm 25. Been playing Civ since Civ 1 and been playing computer games in general since I was in diapers. Don't have as much time for this stuff as I once did, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy it.

Turning fifteen soon. My first civ game was civ 3 (got it at target one day cause I was bored and read some article on it) and have been hooked ever since:). My elective in high school is computer T.A. (surprisingly I am not a nerd, dork, or geek [I motocross and skeet shoot and play tennis] so I can sometimes sneak on here and post while "checking the internet for bad stuff other kids went on":D.

I'll be 50 in 3 days........does that make me ancient...think not...I'm young at heart......love this game;) ;)

this is a pretty good game. at first i told my friends i was bored of it but thats alright cause civ games are notorious for getting old then striking up as an interesting weekend in a few months. Then the nuance kicked in. And i realized this is prolly the best civ by far. Just wish the AI could pull off a victory besides spaceship~

Allow me to laugh at your infantile comment! I'm 29, have a beautiful wife and kid and a masters degree in economics AND I have been playing Civ since 1991 and I still do. So I would say it's plenty possible to have a life even though you play games!

BTW, I also own an XBOX ;)

I'm 32, but my second child (who just had his 1st b-day :) ) makes me feel like I am ancient! I've been gaming since Pong, and pc gaming since the early 80's starting with an Atari 800 when games loaded from cassette tape drives. Addicted to Civ since Civilization I.

I'll probably still be gaming when I'm 82, and my wife, no doubt, will still be nagging me about it! :crazyeye:

nearly 40, so close enough to "ancient".
playing civ since 1992 - i got my mom to import it from britain for me.

so, does anyone remember the ZX81? ;)
