I was just curious how many of you actually use the chat feature. I go every once in awhile, usually at night around the 7:00 EST hour, so I don't see everyone. I know there are the "regulars" (and for some reason one dude who hasn't even joined CFC :hmm: ) but who else ever comes in. :)

I used to visit often during the length of my PBEMs with donsig, but had since stopped once we finished the last one...

Chat has become that weird place when language is twisted beyond recognition. Where both 13-14 year old girls and greasy 60 year old men pose as hot supermodels ;)

Someone here (I forget who) is using a quote of mine in their sig: "I am a rarity in internet circles: I *admit* I'm a balding, overweight, middle-aged man!"

SuperEvie: There are a few of us who are "always on", particularly myself and Chieftess, plus another dozen or so who are there fairly regularly. Then there are the "occasional" visitors, who come by primarily for important events, like a Firaxis Chat, and can drive the currently on numbers to near 100. Then, of course, there are the random *Guest* visitors, who pop in to ask a question about Civ.

Internet chatting is not everyone's cup of tea. But we're there for any Civvers who want to come join us. :)

I'm really surprised I don't chat more. The first multi-line BBS I was on that's all I did was chat. Some posts, but not many. Oh, enough to keep up with posting, but that's about it. We spent more time chatting than anything else.

I dunno. . . .I was out of the online area from '91 to '99. in that time, I somehow lost my penchant for chatting. Maybe it's because it's more global now, and not as many people near me where I can relate to. Not that it doesn't happen now. . .

What's CG? My first thought was cgannon64. . .

Since CFC is now (usually), the largest channel on the IRC server (the WWF channels are gone), we get some who don't even know what Civ is. (I think we did get one person interested)... The largest channel I've seen? #aolspam and ##0wned. It was used as an attempted DoS attack once. (it wasn't too succesful, but it did have nearly 300 bots in it once). Those rooms have since been cleared BTW.

I pop in once in a while, but I know what CG means...

BTW, Padma, it was Octavian who had it in his sig. He seems to have removed it though...

There's also times (like right now) when the Vikings pop into the chatroom. (GreyFox, Silver(something), Paalikles, OldMajor, Cheetah, ChairmanYang, and now a new Viking named [Morten], etc.

The OT crowd (especially the kids) pop in right around 5-9pm EST.

Never. I have MSN, and since Thorgrimm has MSN also, and he is the only one I need to talk to....

I truly am begining to hate my keyboard, it won't respond to my hits sometimes.

OldMajor?!?!?

I haven't seen him in almost a year!

He comes in when GreyFox asks him too. Also, when I said, "(like now"), I was referring to a few people, not that whole list. ;)

I'm a regular :D

though I rarelly public chat- most of my talkin is, and always has been in private windows ;)

though I slowlly am becoming more public ;)

I visit chat sometimes.

I'm normally "always" there, but I leave my computer running while inside the chatroom when I go to school and to eat etc. So the majority of the time I'm not "there." Mostly become active after supper time.

well, I was a regular...
