Hi there, first time poster, long time player!
Since I really concentrate on research, my games often end with the "transcendence" ending. I'm not sure of the exact wording, but it's something like when my "scientists are postulating the grand unified theory and come to realize why the universe exists at all".
The rest of the message says: "Competition is now unneccessary. You have won the game!"

While that's all fine and good, it's a little unpredictable when this happens.
As soon as I start developing Future Tech I change the extra citizens in my cities from scientists to entertainers and adjust the tax rate to take away from science. But I'd like to keep *some* science to develop some Future Tech to increase my score...
Have I got this right? Is this ending caused by "too much" science or is it something else? Is there a way to balance science output to avoid this premature ending but still develop Future Tech?
Thanks in advance for any responses!
EDIT: I'm using ToT, but in Original or Extended Original modes.
