I did have two DVD drives in the computer. Now that has been reduced to one. The missing drive is the one that CivIV was installed from so now I get error saying it can't find the DVD even through I have it in the other drive. I've tried searching the registry and the config file but can't find where it says which drive it's looking for. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game from the still existing drive but it must have kept the previous info because it's still saying it can't find the DVD. All I need is to tell CivIV to look at drive M instead of N. Anyone happen to know where that's at?

Incidently, I know I can change my remaining drive letter but that would just give me the same problem with other programs. I've gotten everything EXCEPT CivIV pointed to the right letter now so would vastly prefer not having to change every single program on my computer settings.

Did you try to run the game from the DVD? (instead of clicking on your Civ4 desktop icon)

Anyway, if you want to change a drive's letter, just do the following :

1) Go to Control panel > Administrative Tools
2) Open Computer Management
3) Open Disk Management (Under the branch "Storage")
4) It then shows all the drives you have on your system.
5) At the lower part of the window, locate your DVD Rom drive.
6) Right click on that drive and choose "change drive's letter and path" (or something like that with similar meaning)
7) Press "edit" to do what you wanted to do.

The above setting is based on Win2K. XP is just almost the same.
