How to change probability of appearance of SGLs.

The thread title really says it all. Is there a way to change the chances of appearance of SGLs fromthe editor?
 
AFAIK, it is hard-coded and impossible to change. Not with editor, at least.

But the people here at the forum appear to know the probability of getting SGLs (3%for non scientific 5% for scientific) pretty accurately. That is why I thought that these must be there in the editor. Did these values come with the printed manual then?

Cannot know, sorry. But it is unchangable in the Civ3Edit, that is for sure.
 
It can definitely be changed, via the Pediaicons.txt file.

By default, these are the two entries:
#ANIMNAME_PRTO_Leader_SCI
SciLeader


#UNITICON_PRTO_Leader_SCI

Virote, how much does that change the likelihood of Science Leaders appearing?

I have discovered that if you have Leaders set to be auto-produced by buildings in Conquests, Science Leaders appear more often. I generally average at least one or two per game, and I have had two Science Leaders appear within about 4 Tech Advances, with the first one still in play. I will have to try and get some screen shots the next time that happens.
