how to cheat?

Alternately, open up one of your saved or auto-saved games several turns back and do things differently. This is lower on the "cheating" scale, in my opinion, than getting all god-like in Worldbuilder--since you still have to come up with a winning strategy.

Where do I go to download the Worldbuilder file? I can not find it anywhere.

I am told that if you checked "no cheating" when setting your game up, then the World Builder is not accessible. Otherwise, either Ctrl+W or the "enter world builder" button in the in-game menu (button at top right of campaign screen, next to the Civilopedia button) will get you into the WB. Once there, enter Player mode (one of the top right buttons), make sure that you are the selected player, select "Units" from the left-hand panel, and give yourself lots of Modern Armour, a dozen or so Stealth Bombers and a handful of ICBMs. Exit WB, you're back in your game and can wipe out your opponents. Or you could select the other civs and delete all their units, techs and all except one of their cities.
That's the easy way to take all the fun out of the game.

Alternatively, you could go to the Diplomacy table and set them all to be at peace with you and war with each other. That's a lot more fun.

Another alternative is to play at a lower difficulty setting. Unless you're already at Settler...

cheating doesn't work. i mean, it works, but it sucks the life out of the game.
don't bother

Yeah why would you want to give yourself a load of Modern Armor and ICMBs so that you can wipe out your opponents? What's the point in that?

I'd say cheats that leave the game more 'playable' would be to change diplomacy and stuff, but not directly allow you to just wipe out the enemy.

I sometimes cheat. Yes, I do. I just hate to play for an hour only to find that I have an untenable position (crappy little island, deserts everywhere, no copper/iron...). So I take a quick peek with worldbuilder, and if the start looks OK, I save it. Then I go play some map I've already saved and by the time I come back to this one, I've forgotten the details but I know it's worth playing. No harm in that, eh?

When you enter World Builder you can set spies on cities or suspected stacks to see what units are there or to investigate cities to see what has been built and what is being researched and how far along the research is.

The absolutely best thing about World Builder is that you can place nuclear fallout on a mountain and watch the beautiful alpenglow! A city really should get extra gold from this since it is such a great tourist attraction.

I think we've all been there.

It's a game and its supposed to be fun. Every player, I think, finds their own acceptable balance on the "cheating" scale--there's a point at which the various cheats (World-builder, reloading saves) do indeed suck the life out of the game, but that point varies for everybody.

Civ requires a great investment of time and attention, so I'm willing to cut the cheaters a little slack. Yes, that includes myself. ;) :D

I tend to get bored in the late game and I abandon games - especially if I'm ahead or behind by a wide margin.

So, I like to go into the Worldbuider when I've decided I'm already "done" with a game. Then, I'll initiate nuclear armageddon or put all of the AI's at war with each other, assemble a huge army of Bears, etc. It's just funny to watch an absurd situaton play out.

I tend to reload if i constantly lose units at very favorable odds. And its happened. I lost a whole stack with very good chances of winning to 2 archers.

"...a huge army of Bears..."?!?

I gotta try that sometime...

Yeah - I only tried that once. You can make animals friendly troops, but you literally cannot move them unless they are in neutral territory. And, of course they are no match for any reasonably advanced military unit. They do capture workers, though, which is kind of funny. I don't know if they can pillage

Here is a thought for your WB test run: How many bears does it take to defeat a modern armour?

Can't be done. The bears keep getting impaled on the main gun.

Sorry for straying off topic Yexus ;)

Maybe you just haven't tried enough bears, could be like bear #101 that finally clobbers the modern armour.
