I've recently had bug reports about missing building art in the VD module for my mod, see here:

It just uses an adaptation of VD that maps the existing art styles to the civs in the mod, so no changes on my part to the art itself. The player reported the buildings present in the city but adding them did not reproduce the problem.

(Here they are if helpful: )

That this did not help me reproduce suggests that the missing art is one of the filler buildings for the city art that appear randomly when city size increases. The problem is now, how do I find out which one it is? I could sift through the art defines for the ANGLO_AMERICAN art style but then I also can't really read how those references to elements in a shared NIF work. Is this a known issue, or does anyone know a good way to debug this?

It's only Platybuilder, but maybe I can look into his code to replicate that. Do you know if it only covers actual buildings or also those extra filler houses? In any case thanks for the hint!

If the building is a red blob on the map it will also be a red blob in the pedia. If that is not the case then you are right and it is most likely one of the buildings in the city art style about which I know nothing.

Duh, the pedia is a good place to make sure it's not a regular building, why didn't I think of that. Will check that to eliminate the possibility.

You can also load that save game and use WB to eliminate all buildings in that city.
If red blob is still there, it is not a regular building.
Save you the trouble to go through 200+ buildings in pedia.

Good idea, unfortunately I don't have access to the save game, and the error isn't reproducible (which in itself suggests that it's not an ordinary building).

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Do you know if it also works for city art that isn't tied to buildings, i.e. those filler buildings?

I believe it works for ALL art related items, including schemas?? not too sure on that though:confused:
