I am new to the forum and was wondering how to download the various scenarios so I can play them. I always end up with a bic file when I download. Specific instructions on how to do this would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You place the .bic in the civilization\scenarios folder, if there are other art files added, they should be in that same folder.
You can play them by choosing 'civcontent' in the main screen although I'm not so sure about vanilla civ.
Hope that helps, and welcome to CFC :)

I placed the bic into the conquests, conquests folder but it does not show up as playable when I start the game. I downloaded tams ancient med which had an installer and after installing that worked but the when i dowload rome 330 it does not appear in the conquests or scenarios area after I start the game. Do I need to do something to install this file?

don't put it in the conquests/conquests folder, it might work there I don't know, but you should put it in the conquests/scenarios folder :)
There it should work :)

The 3 letters there tell witch version of Civ III it's playable in, .bic= [civ3] .bix= [ptw] .biq= [c3c] . Now I'm not 100% sure but I think all 3 are playable in Conquests. But as Zeekater says put it in the Scenarios folder, that is where the game looks when you click Civ-Content.

And Welcome to CFF!

It seems to have worked when I put it into the scenarios folder. Thanks for your help guys!
