I have the old game, but is in a disc and i can run it. I hope that someone have a folder with the game and adapter for windows 10. You guys know something about that?

The disc might be the old 16-bit version of the game, which won't run on 64-bit operating systems. Just google "download civ 2" and there should be plenty of links to working versions that have been patched.

Download a free copy of VirtualBox, https://www.virtualbox.org (there are Mac version as well), install a copy of Windows XP, then install the original game CD.

Alternatively, install DOSBox, and install Windows 3.1 inside DOSBox, and then install Civ2.

I used the VirtualBox + Windows XP methods on both my Windows 10 and MacBook, all working fine.

Wish there was/is a simple download to re play Civ 2 on Win 10, I'm not computer savvy almost age 70 now ha ha had this game for ages and would like to play it again, have disks bought twice and downloaded paid also it's very frustrating. Surely there must be an easy way these days to get this game running again?

Piracy
We have zero tolerance for piracy. This includes posting pirated material, linking to pirated material, telling people how to avoid copy-protection etc, or even advocating piracy. We also consider "abandonware" to be piracy, as it has no official legal recognition. Please do not link to abandonware sites.

2. https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/civilization-ii-mge-user-interface-additions-civ2uia.623515/ download this thing, its a modern launcher that includes everything u need to just play the game.
I suggest you to thoroughly read the thread, atleast the first few posts to have a general idea what it does and how to use it.
3. (optional) If you care about councils and other video stuff.
https://codecguide.com/download_kl.htm download this codec pack, install, then type in "codec tweak tool" in your popup windows menu, the one u can open pressing windows button on ur keyboard.
In this app click on ACM/VFW (x86), then select Indeo4 to enable indeo4 codec.

Thats what i did to boot it up on my win10 1803 x64

Alternatively, if u really want to play civ2 but somehow steps above didn't work out at all
Moderator Action: This also applies to web-hosted versions of any Civ game. The_J

they have a bunch of stuff from 90s, need a web browser. Though ur saves will be gone cause its emulated.

Alternatively alternatively, https://www.freeciv.org/ .
